I am very grateful to Dr. Sale at the Saint Paul office for spotting skin cancer on my lower eyelid that two other general practitioners missed. She and her assistant were both very kind. My only difficulty was I had to advocate to get a referral to a doctor who was qualified to do both the Mohs procedure and subsequent repair in the same day. The cancer was in a very problematic location, my eye, and I was concerned about being disfigured. The clinic initially wanted me to have the Mohs surgery by one of their surgeons and then go elsewhere the following day to a plastic surgeon for a consult and to schedule a time for the repair. It made no sense to drag out the pain and wait up to a week to have the cosmetic repair. After many phone calls, the St. Paul office referred me to Dr. Shaffey at their Eagan office. I had a very good experience there. He was able to both the surgery and the repair in the same day. The staff there was great and Dr. Shaffey did a nice job making me still look like myself. I was really frightened but he and his assistants, Katie and Layla, made the procedure as tolerable as possible.
