The GentleMax Pro Treatment Process

GentleMax treatments are non-invasive, delivering light energy to hundreds of hair follicles at a time. To reduce discomfort, the laser uses a patented cooling system that sprays cryogen to deeply cool the top layer of your skin before and after every pulse of the laser. Depending on the size of the area being treated a treatment may last a few minutes or an hour or more. GentleMax Pro can remove hair from all areas of the body including the face, underarms, legs, arms and back.

Some patients experience a mild stinging or pinching sensation with the GentleMax Pro. Usually no local anesthetic or pain medicine is necessary but a topical anesthetic cream may be applied one hour before the treatment to reduce any pain.

Treatments may need to be repeated depending on your unique hair growth cycle and the density of your hair. Additional factors that determine if multiple treatments are necessary include your age, ethnicity, hormones, medications and metabolism – all of which can affect your hair’s thickness and tenacity.

Treatment Preparation

You may shave the area to be treated the day before treatment, but it’s advised not to pluck or wax before or after your GentleMax Pro treatments begin.

Treatment Aftercare

After a GentleMax Pro treatment you can resume normal activities, but sunscreen must be worn on any treated areas whenever exposed to the sun. Limiting sun exposure to treated areas by covering them with clothing or staying indoors is best. You may also be advised to use a formulated skin care product after the procedure.

Laser Hair Removal and Skin Color

Previous laser hair reduction and removal technology could not safely be used on patients with darker skin tones due to the potential to develop post-laser pigmentation changes. GentleMax Pro can safely be used on darker and ethnic skin tones.

Side Effects of  GentleMax Pro for Laser Hair Removal

Side effects of treatments include temporary redness and swelling at the treatment site. This indicates your hair follicles have responded to the treatment. Side effects normally disappear within hours of treatment.
