Dry skin can be very frustrating but there are things you can do to improve the quality and texture of your skin. Most important is regular application of a quality moisturizer. Choose one that is fragrance-free and has a cream base rather than a lotion.
Applying the moisturizer within 2-3 minutes after bathing can help lock in moisture to your skin. Use a fragrance-free gentle soap and minimize soap exposure only to required areas such as armpits and underwear regions. Avoiding any irritants such as hot water, wool and animal dander can also be helpful. Very rarely dry skin may be caused by something specific like an allergy, a medication, or a systemic condition that our dermatologists can help diagnose and manage.
